Bob Hoskins

British actor Bob Hoskins passed away on Tuesday (29th April 2014). Little may you know that early in his career he worked as an actor at the Victoria Theatre, Hartshill, Stoke-on-Trent.

Following Peter Cheeseman’s return to the Vic in 1968, Hoskins appeared in ‘Romeo and Juliet’, in the week of 5th March 1968. Billed as Robert Hoskins, he was ‘Peter, servant of Capulet attending on the Nurse’, and also a member of the watch.bobhoskinsRJ

For those interested, the programme for his appearance can be seen at the Stoke-on-Trent City Archives in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. (I should know, I catalogued the theatre collection there!)
