The Lyric Hall, also known as Central Hall, was located on Pall Mall, Hanley, opposite the Theatre Royal. It sat 800, and exhibited Edison’s Scenograph in 1897 – one of the first, if not THE first time moving pictures arrived in Stoke. The building latterly became the Majestic Ballroom, which burned down in 1964. Part of the building survives and holds an Italian restaurant and a shop.
